E3 Chiropractic

E3 Chiropractic, a clinic that focuses on rehabilitation, strength, and flexibility. All three are synonymous with AXIS Lightings STENCIL FLEX product. A framework system with flexibility to light the space in many ways. Adjustable track lighting puts focus on the sign and living wall as you are welcomed through the door, with sleek pendants and area lighting above the reception desk. The rehab space utilizes wall wash linear on the cityscape feature wall, tubes mounted on an angle, and general lighting all mounted by the same framework with a pop of color of the acoustic corner panels. Diffusion tape light gives additional pop to the framework of the reception desk, and the recessed channel into the underside of the shelves in the kitchen provides task lighting.

Assiniboia Arena – Southland COOP Centre

In June of 2020 we were approached by Jet Electric to team up with Wright Construction and create a lighting design for the new Assiniboia Community complex. This is now known at the Southland CO-OP Centre. The RFP was looking to create a very similar facility to the Merlis Belsher Place project in Saskatoon that we worked on in 2017. Working with both the Electrical Contractor and the Design group, we were able to create a best-in-class facility. The association wanted to create a space for the entire family. This included a Teen Centre with RGBW lighting, a Children’s Area.

The other feature lighting for this space included a motion and event lighting package for the event surface. We also created an Exterior Lighting Experience to further draw attention to this state-of-the-art facility.

Controls within the space are fully networked and time clock controlled, single touch “on/off” for the entire building, and touch screen controls for all the interior and exterior spaces.

Royal Saskatchewan Museum – Home Exhibit

While the Royal Saskatchewan Museum was developing their new HOME exhibit, they reached out to a trusted team of partners including Christie Lites Sales and Ritenburg & Associates to make sure that the lighting enhanced their message of conservation and helped create visual interest to keep visitors engaged. It was very important for the long-term preservation of the organic displays (Bison, Whooping Crane, etc) that light levels were precisely calibrated and only applied to the exhibits when they are occupied with people.

Through the expansion of the existing ETC Mosaic system scheduled and responsive controls were applied to ETC’s ArcProOne-Micro fixtures for area and exhibit lighting, and tape light as accents.

The ArcPro Micros and their remote D2 drivers allowed for an unobtrusive, silent, flexible installation.
Coming in under half a pound, the Micro heads were mounted directly to the ceiling tile in the final days of the exhibit installation. This allowed light to be put precisely where it needed to be to create the depth and coverage required for lighting 3D objects and text plaques.

Museum exhibits evolve through their realization and build, and this systems expandability for changes allowed for the growth of the lighting right along with it.

Conexus Credit Union Head Office

Conexus Buildings Communities project located at 2375 College Avenue, Regina is part of a partnership with the University of Regina , helping to restore College Avenue Campus, enhance the park and create educational and cultural opportunities for our community in the years to come.

The main floor will be open to the public during regular business hours and public amenities include a cafe, public washrooms, ATM, water filling stations and seating areas.

Each area of this project has a different theme of lights from having Axis Lighting in the board rooms to an array of Eureka fixtures in the open spaces. Lightheaded Aurora downlights were the choice of regressed LED modules and optics for glare-free downlighting. To finish off the exterior lighting the Lumistik by Luminis was ideally suited for the unique site lighting application where public space enhancement was the goal.

SEPW Office Tenant Improvement

When SEPW was looking for a new office location, they were excited to find this historic Brownstone building in the warehouse district of Regina that not only gave them a home in the heart of the city but also gave them the opportunity to feature their architectural skills.

While the building will capture your attention on its own, they needed to select the right lighting fixtures to compliment, highlight and not detract from the space all at the same time. Long concave Zen linear fixtures from Axis were used to highlight the endless spans in the office while more delicate Skirt fixtures from Eureka were used down the common areas to add scale and wayfinding to the space.

A traditional/modern boardroom completes the space with Axis Beam Linear and Eureka Scout pendants surrounded by wood planks to create a comfortable and collaborative environment.

Royal Sask Museum – Scotty Exhibit

When the Royal Saskatchewan Museum was looking to display their newest finding, they turned to Alfa Engineering and Christie Lites Saskatchewan to bring 70 million years of history to life again in a new exhibit displaying the largest Tyrannosaurus Rex ever discovered. This 13 meter long and 8,800kg carnivore is 65% in tact and towers over visitors to the exhibit. With some help from a theatrical background and direction from the Royal Saskatchewan exhibit curators, Christie Lites used a scale model of the proposed exhibit to come up with the lighting scheme which consist of ETC ColorSource Spots to light both the skeletal remains as well as other features along side a set of ColorSource Cyc fixtures used to bring the back wall to life. An ETC Mosaic control system is used to transition the backdrop from sunrise through sunset and back during the day along with button stations along the upper floor of the exhibit which change a focused fixture red to highlight certain bone features as they learn. ETC DataTrack and Arch fixtures are also used throughout the space to highlight some of the smaller displays.

MLT @ Riverlanding

MLT Aikins is a growing law firm in Western Canada with 240 lawyers based out of 6 offices in Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and now Saskatoon. Located on the 11th and 12th floors of the east tower at the River Landing development, the design for the space features a colour palette of grey, black and white, combined with wood finishes. The design showcases the spectacular views of the river valley as it winds through Saskatoon.

Lighting throughout the space highlights, rather than overshadows the architecture. FlexTube from Acclaim was used to follow the gentle curve of the glass walls in the Signing Room and Boardroom. Adjustable downlight multiples by Lightheaded are located in the open area, providing flexibility to light artwork where needed. And finally, the suspended linear lights from Axis and Selux provide task level lighting while also complementing the furniture below.

Brighton Marketplace

Beginning in 2017, Titan was approached to assist with the exterior lighting for the Brighton Marketplace, a visionary outdoor shopping experience and one of the key features of Saskatoon’s largest master-planned community, Brighton. Developer Dream Homes was looking for a contemporary luminaire which would integrate seamlessly with the modern architecture but still come in on time and on budget. Working together with the owner, contractor, engineer and manufacturers, Titan was able to provide a design solution that integrated the Millenial series from Sternberg Lighting as well as the RSX series from Acuity Brands. The result is a beautiful, well lit site that feels both modern and lively!

Alloy Autobody

Alloy Collision Centre is an automotive shop designed for collision repair, service and detailing.  Focused on a positive customer experience, the inviting entrance area features a comfortable waiting area with coffee bar. Adjacent is the elegant showroom showcasing the WYANT Group’s impressive private vehicle collection which required crisp white light with high center beam illumination JUNO track lights. In the center between the two areas is an elevator shaft and stairwell that became an important feature in the design. Vertical strips of light by DELTA LIGHT had to appear to flow naturally with the perforated metal that wrapped the concrete elevator shaft. This light also served as general lighting for the stairway that surrounded it.

Carrying on to the second floor, the dropped perforated metal ceiling clouds utilize the seamless integration of JLC Tech T-Bar Smart Lights which provide light for the space without interrupting the metal grid.  The T-Bar Smart Lights were also used in the boardroom where they become invisible when not in use.

The Autobody and Collision shops required the use of sealed light fixtures, bright and uniform shop lights using a mix of strips, vandal resistant lights, low-bays and high-bays.

Lighting control stations with built in preset scenes are located throughout, so the space can go from autobody shop by day to multi-function event space by night!

Shakespear

Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan

Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan is a not-for-profit theatre company which has been providing theatrical productions of Shakespeare’s timeless plays right on the Saskatoon riverbank for many years. In 2018, a strategic vision was put forward to expand the existing SOTS site to provide a more permanent home for the company as well as upgrade to a 4 season usage. A schematic plan was developed by the consulting team and in early 2019 Titan Electrical Group in conjunction with Christie Lites Sales submitted a proposal to provide lighting and controls for the new site and was awarded the project.

The site features some of the most dynamic exterior lighting currently installed in Saskatchewan – the large trees flanking the site are lit with color changing lighting, as are the pathways to and from the Amphitheatre. Animated gobo projectors display sponsor logos as well as Shakespeare images and quotes. The Meewasin trail runs through the site and is illuminated with warm white pathway lights which are dimmed when no motion is preseny and brought up to full when pedestrians approach. A large riverside deck is lit with warm white exterior LED tube light integrated into the deck rail and some of the benches.

The main feature of the site however is the new permanent amphitheatre structure. The structure is made up of large precast concrete segments and the project team had to coordinate with the precast manufacturer to integrate color changing LED tape light into each riser segment. These can become part of the stage show and integrate with the theatrical control panel, or revert to the ETC Mosaik site control when no show is taking place. A high degree of granularity was required to achieve both vertical and horizontal motion across the tiers. Additional step lighting was mounted into the steps for egress illumination. These lights are dimmable and also part of the control system.
